New belt tensioning cylinder for caterpillar drives

Robust and very low maintenance
The CLAAS TerraTrac caterpillar drive - which was equipped with the new Simrit belt tensioning cylinder - for less maintenance and longer service lives.
26.07.2010: Agricultural machine specialist CLAAS and sealing and vibration control specialist Simrit have cooperated closely to develop an innovative belt tensioning cylinder - robust, with a long service life and extremely low maintenance.
Correctly tensioned for increased efficiency
Today's agricultural machines must ensure careful handling of valuable farming soil as well as food supply at economic prices. To solve this task, caterpillar drives are indispensable. Vibration control and sealing technology precision parts are decisive for increasing the service life and efficiency of these drives. Therefore, one of the global technology leaders for agricultural machines, CLAAS, cooperates with Simrit. The result of decades of joint development is a brand-new integrated belt tensioning cylinder.
All in one instead of many components
Instead of the usual hydraulics cylinder, hydro accumulator and three connection hoses, the innovative belt tensioning cylinder integrates the accumulator right into the cylinder without any hoses at all. With this compact build, the five in one solution has a longer service life at a lower maintenance demand than traditional components, because this way no dirt will enter, no hoses will tear and the accumulator will not disconnect. There also is no permeation (=penetration of a firm body through liquids of gases) and the system's reaction speed increases. The logistics effort for procuring and handling the components is also lowered by 50%. All in all: The new belt tensioning cylinder makes a decisive contribution to turning CLAAS agricultural machines even more efficient and competitive than before.
